This project was especially meaningful to me. I had the opportunity to step in and help redirect a design that wasn’t making the most of the home’s potential. The property features an incredible view, which had been completely overlooked in the original plans. I proposed a shed roof in place of the conventional pitched roof to immediately draw attention to the view upon entry and to create a more dynamic ceiling. The final result is a space my clients are proud to call home, and I’m truly grateful to have played a role in bringing their vision to life.
"Mark Landolf should have a cape because he literally came to the rescue for our home remodel! We were first time renovators with a unique, old home in Walnut Creek with great potential. We learned the hard way -- initially thinking we didn't need an architect; and so instead we hired a contractor to help us "design and build" our home. That was a bad decision on a number of levels, and rendered us stuck for months (driven largely by our poor choice in pros). We met Mark and immediately knew that he could help us. With his help, we took a step back to make sure we were investing into a beautiful, functional, well-designed home. It was a fairly small assignment for his depth of capabilities, but his involvement made a huge impact. He was thoughtful, he listened, (and it was fun to see the designs in 3D!), and respected our budget parameters. Mark has been by far the best decision in what is a complex building process for first timers. He has referred us to a terrific new General Contractor. We are just getting started with construction; we are excited to see our vision come to reality. Thank you Mark!"
